This is the comparison we lose on price by the widest margin, and it is also the one we are most comfortable making.

What the DIY stack actually is

Software total: roughly nothing to about thirty-five dollars a month. That is the honest number, and it is a lot less than $149.

nobody stalls because canva was too expensive.

What the DIY stack does not include

The tools are not the missing piece. Here is what you are actually assembling when you do this yourself:

Meta Ads Manager pricing confirmed from Meta’s own business site, August 2026. CapCut, Canva and Boost Post figures are third-party reports that vary by region, billing cycle and store — treat them as indicative and confirm before buying.

One honest detour: if all you need is help filming

There are dedicated own-face video tools that do teleprompter, auto-captions and social publishing for far less than we charge — BIGVU, for instance, published paid tiers starting around $12–$19 a month as of August 2026. If your real problem is “I want to film myself talking and post it,” that is a better purchase than MeMachine and you should make it.

What those tools do not do is read the ads running in your market, aim your scripts at the gap, build the campaign, publish it as a paid ad in your own ad account, or route the response to your calendar. They are video tools. MeMachine is an ads system that happens to include filming. Different purchase, and worth knowing which one you are actually making.

Choose honestly

Stay DIY if

You have the time, and you have done it before.

  • You already know what your ads should say and why.
  • You are comfortable in Ads Manager, or willing to learn it properly.
  • You have edited video before and did not hate it.
  • Your ad budget is small enough that $149 is a meaningful share of it.
  • You enjoy this part. Some owners genuinely do, and they should keep it.
Choose MeMachine if

You have started this three times already.

  • There is footage on your phone from a month ago that never became anything.
  • You do not know what to say, and that is the honest blocker.
  • Boost Post is what you have been doing and you suspect it is not working.
  • You want the whole loop — script, film, cut, publish, book — to just happen.
  • Your hour is worth more than the difference between $35 and $149.

Seven days to find out.

Card up front, cancel before day seven and nothing is charged. If it turns out you would rather do it yourself, you will at least have seen six scripts and a read of your market.
